I recently rescued a kitten from the road and it is attacking my admittedly catscratcher-resembling guitar amps. what tricks have you tried to keep them away? Thank you

Oh jesus! Hmm. They make these covers for couch arms made of jute/burlap looking stuff and it velcroes on. Maybe start with that as a cover and then eventually move it off the amp to someplace else? Or, stick a cat scratcher post directly in front of it?

i know cats can really get to wherever they want to go if they try, but putting it on something high up and hard to get to might work. besides, amps should be elevated in some manner, having them on the floor can create a lot of unneeded overtones and all that.

Also put a scratching post or pad next to it. Helps to redirect them immediately to something else they'd rather scratch.
