As the title says, now that he's a daemon prince that keeps repawning, can't he just remove his butcher's nails since it's still causing him pain, even if it kills him from the operation, he'll respawn anyway.

Or if he doesn't want to risk doing it himself, can't it just be done techno-warp fuckery from the dark mechanicum?

Or with the help of Vashtor ( yes the great game I know, Korn probably won't allow Angon to be intebted to Vashtor in any way. But still it should doable technically, right?)

Thanks !

Daemons aren't really physical beings. They are the essence of something. They are dreams and passions given life as spiritual creatures. They might wear a physical form for a little while when they enter real space, but that body isn't really who they are.

Angron can't lose his nails because they're a part of who he is. They are a symbol of what it means to be Angron. It's the same reason Mortarion still wears a gas mask, or Perturabo still has armor.

He might even still hate the nails and want them removed. But that's just because hating the nails is part of who he is.

Sometimes we'll see a daemon permanently changed. They'll be scarred by a wound or lose a possession. But those changes are always heavy with symbolism. Just killing a daemon isn't enough to cause those changes. It comes about when they are defeated by a holy champion, or trade away some power for influence. Maybe Vashtor/Angron/Khorne could remove those nails, but it would represent a fundamental change to the core of Angron as an idea.

They are a part of him now. They aren't physical nails anymore. When he takes physical form they materialize with him because they have been engrained in his psyche as a part of him. There is nothing to remove.

Daemon Angron is not allowed free will, and wants nothing more than blood and skulls. If he could want to remove the nails he couldn't as they aren't really the nails anymore. The warp is made of souls, Angron's soul is one with the nails forever.

Becoming a daemon is becoming a being made of nothing. He is an emotion made manifest. The Nails are part of him, forever. Even if he changes form or rips them out the damage they did to his psyche is permanent and fundamental to his existence as a Daemon of Khorne.
