Immich, a self-hosted app for photo and video backup/viewing now has support for already existing libraries in a read-only mode.

I have not tested this yet, but this was actually the missing feature I was waiting for. So if you have not looked into it for a while, maybe now is a good time to do so.

Immich is one of the foss projects that everyone should contribute money/time on it. It is great, stable and blazing fast.

That's the missing feature I've been waiting for. Thanks a lot to the devs!

This is a great addition. I'm sure so many have wanted to see existing libraries since the project got popular. OP have you ever used the mobile app? If so, how well does the photo sync feature work for you?

Edit: And thanks for the update on the project!

Yeah, this is really cool. I have been waiting patiently for this to come in. I wonder how it will go with my existing 50k assets?

It is not yet quite right for me, as it is very user centric. My wife and I share all the photos, but it looks like this is registered on a per user basis. I wonder if the assets will show in the partner feed?

Either way, immich has show to be a fantastic project, that has a heap of momentum, and seems to be able to continue to create a tool that people want, as well as attract other devs to assist.

I think It is time for me to hit that donate button!
