The new Google Camera version is only available on the Android 14 beta right now.
Bring it!! I've been running 14 for a few weeks now... In fact I updated to the latest beta just yesterday. My camera app is still 8.9, however. How to I get this version? ๐ค

You have more patience than I do. ๐ I'm not sure I trust APKMirror...but for some reason I don't feel that way about the Telegram channel. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

APKmirror only hosts APKs that matches the vendor digital signature, you won't find modified stuff there. So in terms of safety it's as safe as the Play Store itself.
So the big change is that they flipped two buttons?
I wish they'd add the option to turn off video stabilisation without digging deep into the settings. It is very useful but when you have a tripod or other means of stabilisation it causes an unnecessary zoom
