Assume you were born with a medical disability that prevents you from serving in the military but doesn't typically interfere with physical fitness/ability, are in it purely for the money/connections, are in your early-mid 20's, have a practical STEM degree, and have meaningful experience in genuinely hazardous work environments.

Where to start?

I also suggest looking into MUFON. I’ve personally considered joining MUFON as a field investigator and think that it could be a good way to get started in the field. That could also lead to connections to branch into other things. You need to reach out to the Director of your local chapter in order to get started, so you can email them with your intent and they may be able to guide you on getting started locally.

I'm not sure I'm the best person to guide you. Moreover, I'm uncertain if anyone truly is. It seems to me there are very limited avenues when it comes to making a living in this field. While I might be overlooking some, the following paths are the ones that stand out to me:

  • Independent researcher
  • Journalist, Author, etc., writing about the topic
  • Podcaster, YouTuber, etc., discussing the topics
  • Military or Private Contractor working hands-on

Given the background you provided, I see two potential paths: working with a private contractor or as an independent researcher.

The route of the private contractor seems unpredictable and not very reliable. This topic may be an open secret, but you can't just walk into establishments like Raytheon or Lockheed and ask about a job related to UAP. While these entities might be withholding information or materials, they aren't openly admitting to it.

Thus, I believe the most reliable path, one that you would have control over, is to investigate on your own. You can review videos on MUFON or other platforms, conduct your own independent analyses, and then share your findings. Furthermore, MUFON is consistently on the lookout for field investigators. This could be a dependable way for you to delve into this field of study, starting from the ground up.

Hope this was somewhat useful. Best of luck.

MUFON sounds like my most realistic option here, however based off my experience with other professional organizations (ex: SAE) it seems to be a bit much. If I'm being entirely honest it sounds like a grift. I understand that with what they do they need to educate their guys limit their liability and pay for shit, but $60 minimum just to get started? Thats not what you charge if you're serious about anything other than making money. This is assuming there aren't any more paywalls needed to pass before the rubber actually hits the road.

Is there anything you're aware of thats more like a DIY version of the Galileo project?

[–] SignullGone 2 points 1 year ago

I'm not aware of any DIY methods. Even the Galileo project required millions of dollars from private investors. One option could be to purchase a high-quality camera with a telescoping lens and scan the skies, hoping for a fortunate discovery. I wish I could provide more definitive answers. However, it appears that many of the renowned researchers in this field stumbled upon it, being in the right place at the right time.

It's a long shot, but in the best-case scenario, the government would come forward with what they know, leading to more official positions opening up for research in this area. However, I wouldn't hold my breath.

It seems with the contractor route, they pick you. And from my distant observations they only pick people that have zero interest and zero belief. Total squares that don’t ask a lot of questions.

Most people start by throwing away their schizophrenia meds
