It's September finally and so begins the process of the ending of my least favorite season (Summer) and the gradual start of my favorite season, Autumn.

Figured today would be a good day to share your favorite songs that recognize the end of Summer and the start of Autumn

ABBA's "Our Last Summer" immediately started playing in my head lol. https://youtu.be/KoyNlVQbUPc?si=b1UzLYXp12CGKWv5

But what are some of your favorite songs that kind of hit this moment?

I live in Manila and there's basically two seasons: hella rain vs no rain. We're in the hella rain period. This is when all the typhoons, monsoons, storms, floods, etc. happen and it goes on from June to November.

So to commemorate the middle of the rainy season, here's a live performance by Lola Amour performing "Raining in Manila". I'm not familiar with them but the song is a little jazzy and all the dudes crammed in that bus are totally all in sync.

The logical song has got to be "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day.

I also normally pull out my Distillers and Death Cab for this time of year, but I've already been listening to them all year.

Don't get me wrong, though. Autumn is the best.

Spring. It’s springtime and I have work in the garden to do. Apparently the phase of the moon is perfect for it.

Fantastic song choice btw. ABBA is well regarded by any sane person.

Nina Simone - Spring is here

I’m going to take the OC post in the spirit that I think it’s intended, but make my response about (changes of) seasons.

Yo La Tengo - Autumn Sweater

The Lucksmiths - T-Shirt Weather

Royal Blood - Typhoons

Nice pushback against egocentrism.

Autumn Leaves by Eva Cassidy has an almost spiritual importance to me, and I come back to it every year.

Eva had such a perfect voice.

Better Than Ezra - This Time of Year

I had this album and enjoyed it well enough, but didn't get totally into it. But then I went to graduation where they played this song over a slide show and it hit me hard. While spring is graduation time, this is clearly and autumnal tune.

HOMiE - Autumn in Jayne

After the Blue album, Rivers Cuomo headed back to school in Boston. He played some solo shows, but not much came of the songs he wrote at the time. Years later, a couple of users from the Weezer message boards decided to give the songs some love and release this album. I like to imagine that this song was initially "Autumn in Maine" (my home state) and he changed it to Jayne to be less obvious.

I thought y’all call it Fall?
