Wow that was a long article for one cigarette. Why would the officer lie about her littering? I wish we had better littering enforcement in the USA.

I don't know if anyone was actually lying. And more importantly I don't know how the revenue works from these tickets in Singapore, but US police get their funding from these types of tickets, and if it's the same there, the police will also be required to get a certain number of tickets a month to keep the department funded.

I have recently heard many reports about Chinese police upping the number of tickets they issue, as they are also facing a funding deficit.
