The Bards Tale aRPG covered this directly. The first boar you kill right outside town drops a shit ton of loot and the narrator (Which is MF Tony Jay) says "wait a second that's not right". Then just auto sells everything into money.
Actually that entire game is basically taking the piss outta RPG games in general. It's great.
