Why is Zoidberg alone on Xmas? What happened to Marianne?

Yeah kind of annoying the writers forgot or retconned Marianne
And retconned that Robot Santa's standards for naughty and nice were too high, just now makes him think naughty is nice and nice is naughty. And also the cookie monster for some stupid reason.
This episode really blew
Yeah, I think we’re getting a reimagining of Futurama rather than a continuation. You provide a great example of that position.
That was super common in the revival episodes. It's like they forgot they established stuff.
Seriously, if you rewatch the series, like 4+ episodes a day, you'll see a marked shift after the original cancellation.
I feel like futurama is getting worse. They're not bad, but they're not as good as the original series. Anyone else?
This looks a lot like start of Comedy Central seasons. Average at best. But then BANG! came "Lethal Inspection" and "The Late Philip J. Fry". A man can dream though.
yup. They definitely don't have the edge that the original series had. I'm on the fence about continuing to watch.
Haven't seen it but I agree. It seems stale. The script doesn't feel alive. The originals were so different and dare I say edgy. Now it's just riffing on current things.
Being this year or 3000 doesn't make much difference.
Definitely. We have Zombie Simpsons and now Zombie Futurama.
I'm glad this episode wasn't just a current event satire like literally every other episode.
Did anyone noticed the disenchantment easter egg?
Yes!. Although I was hoping to see the era of "when mankind was enslaved by giraffes"
I loved the end with the Coolio send off. Overall I enjoyed it and looking forward to how they flesh out Kif and Amy’s kids.
These episodes are just getting worse and honestly I'm happy. The people who continued to feel we needed more episodes deserve this. Good things come to an end and you can be grateful for the ride but by all means, stop forcing shows that had their turn being revived over and over. We didn't need new Futurama, we needed a community to talk about how great it was. New isn't always better. You wanted new episodes, well you got them. They are filled to the brim with forced jokes that don't hit, plots that are forgettable at best, and no single ounce of creativity to be had.
You just described my thoughts
I liked it, it has the sort of oddly turned phrases, ridiculous plot, and background nonsense that previous seasons were great at.
This episode was great; a classic Xmas episode. You are all so negative. The season is on an uptick. The Dune episode was fantastic too. Give them a chance. There are so many jokes in these that are great.
I was on vacation last week, and just saw this episode yesterday. I agree, it was a lot of fun! Good jokes ("Dumpster nog! And not the kind for kids!"), snappy pacing, good performances, and some of that sentiment they've been working in more. I particularly enjoyed each family's variation on turducken. ("Oh, no, they crave death.")
As to what happened to Marianne, or why Robot Santa has a naughty/nice switch instead of bad programming? SCIENCE HAS NO ANSWERS!
SPOILERS AHEAD
the episodes are indeed getting worse, but they still kept good level of details and inter-connectivity between episodes:
- the time machine [and the foldable chairs in it]
- reference to Disenchantment
- scenes from previous episodes (even those that didn't happen in the timeline, Big Bender)
- "fixing" Santa
- the double entendre "meat market" joke
I love how everything Santabot ate was a cookie.
Table? COOKIE!!! Chair? COOKIE!!! Metal disc? COOKIE!!!
Also loved the variations on turducken.
Enjoyed the small details in the background of scenes.
Definitely one of the better Xmas episodes. Glad to see the Coolio ending.
That running joke actually had me laughing. A rarity in this season.
