After a string of bombs and with a reboot on the horizon, Warner Bros. has to do more than make fans believe a man can fly. It has to make them believe that this time, there’s a willingness to see that flight to its destination.

Blue Beetle’s opening weekend, among lowest in the franchise’s history, comes after a string of box office misses including The Flash, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Black Adam, and COVID-affected titles, Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad. As Gunn and Safran tee up their relaunch with a slate of film and television projects, pundits are wondering: Where have all the DC film fans gone?

They went to see The Flash, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Black Adam, Wonder Woman 84, and actually The Suicide Squad was good. Or probably they didn't, because before that was Aquaman, Justice League, BVS, and actually the first Wonder Woman and Shazam were pretty good. Those are terrible odds for someone looking to spend Movie Theater money. This is not a mystery worthy of Scooby and the gang.

I enjoyed Blue Beetle. But I guess people won't give it a chance because they don't know what it is and it's not Marvel.

There is so much more too DC than Batman and Superman. They need to stop rehashing those two and do something else. Emmett Scanlan's portrayal of the Main Man in Season 2 of Krypton was amazing. Give us more of that. I have loved watching both Titans and Peacemaker on HBO (Titans was actually the reason i first subscribed to it). What about some L.E.G.I.O.N.?
