What heavy gun are you using there?

That's the regular deepcore grenade launcher but with the Fat Boy overclock.

You want to get the Breach Cutter, with Return to Sender overclock. Every time you fire it, it's just chef's kiss.

If you don't want to get close, use the Shard Diffractor. Melt anything from any angle, it goes through armor.

I main driller but I've started playing a lot more of the other classes more often because I felt bad with them. PGL + fat boy is fun but I find I do too much accidental friendly fire with it.

What I don't care for on engi are his primaries. They all feel too weak in some way. The warthog feels meh, dual SMGs don't really hit hard, and smart rifle takes a long time to lock on plus it eats ammo. So far I've been using the dual SMGs with an electric build. It works but I feel like I'd struggle on haz 5.

I use the Warthog with 1-1-2-2-1 and Magnetic Pellet Alignment. It will kill common bugs with a single shot to the mouth at decent range, has a good firing rate, and the ammo is plentiful. You can use the turret whip to get stragglers on the ceiling out of your effective reach. It does struggle a bit with larger enemies, though, I admit.
