Why would mid-late game players buy low level items on the Grand Exchange?

I'm new to Runescape and so confused as to why players would buy low level items such as wood, ore or bronze armour from the Grand Exchange, are they just hoarders who have a compulsion to collect everything?

Wood and Ores are needed in large numbers for building the Fort and Masterwork Armour, respectively. Bronze Armour is probably for clues, but there are likely other uses for it. Hoarders also absolutely exist (and sometimes make massive profits, like ashes hoarders w/ necro release)

Some people are hoarders, but iirc there are also uses for many random junky items in invention - breaking stuff down into components.

Wood itself is used for fort upgrades, any of the essences and it can be disassembled for invention simple parts which are always needed. RS3 did quite a good job at giving value to a lot of the low level items.
