As I understand it while it was being brought over to be translated the studio didn't care about the project so just told the voice actors to just do what ever. I have yet to find any other anime that the VA were allow to just say what the fuck they wanted like this.

It's not to this level, but the dub of Yu Yu Hakusho added so much for the tournament saga dub.

I couldn't think of it at the time, lol. The dark tournament saga, where you had the demon girl announcer. In Japanese, she was played very straight, but in English she had an Addams family humor to her.

Shin-chan is very similar! I'm not sure why since it's a much more beloved property that's still going strong to this day.
Yu-Gi-Oh has quite a lot of differences, ranging from really big to very small.
