What a weird tie in with digital ID which had nothing to do with it.

It was an issue with them using a third party company for file transfers and not encrypting their files in the first place, which is why it affected ALL license holders, not just digital.

Doesn’t the DMV collect and sell your personal information to third parties as well? We need some personal privacy laws with teeth if people are just going to pass around our sensitive info like poker chips.

You can look into EU's GDPR if you want to advocate for personal data protection. I guess similar legislation could be implemented in the US at the state level. Also, is there going to be a trial so that people can get a nice $25 check?

Good thing they're getting ready to start using this system for age-verification on porn websites, I'm sure that won't have any awkward consequences.
