If y'all are wondering why this is early, it's cuz 1. the game is at 3 am local time and I'm not gonna watch / stay up to put the pre-match thread up at a proper time, and 2. I'm sad about the World Cup

Takehiro starts, Gabriel on the bench.
The Gabriel on the bench thing is interesting. Is he carrying something that they're taking it as a precaution and break glass only if needed? Or is this more experimenting with being more "unpredictable"?
I think it's cuz with the 3-1-6 we're trying to do in attack, Gabriel isn't as suitable as White (?) Probably will see more Gabriel when Zinny comes back in.
Hope so. I'm hoping to see them come on in the latter half.

The no Gabriel again is weird.
It's cuz we want to invert Partey and White suits that more than Gabriel I think. Personally still think we should be playing Tierney but I think that's long past hopium.
Well I'm in a sour mood today and to top it all off, Monday games just annoy me. Going to be difficult not to watch the game at work, but it's not like I want to work anyways.

I'm just home in Hong Kong for the summer; I'll be back in New York and watching at normal hours soon enough haha. Like, 2 games away. It's kinda normal for people here to stay up and watch though — just not like bothered for a game like this, so early into the season.
Oh btw i'm not staying up for this game cuz it goes til 5 am, Eabryt should be doing the match threads assuming work isn't a pain but if you guys don't see one in time feel free to make one (just one!!)

It's disappointing tbh — though, with only 9 on the bench in games like these someone has to miss out. Not convinced that having Tierney on the bench isn't better than Jorginho with both Rice and Partey on the pitch I'm ngl, but I trust Arteta...
Zinchenko isn't at 100% but he's on the bench. Why not Tierney who is at 100% instead of him?
To be fair, Zinny's not gonna ever get there without playing; but Tierney should be on the bench. Ngl, not convinced he's not better than Nelson either, but...
