2% is such a joke make it 10% at least
8% where?
Every food I eat has went up 100-200%
The materials my company buys has went up 50-450%
My bills have nearly all increased by over 15%
I would LOVE to know where this 8% is. Sounds like paradise.
Right?? My rent has gone up 1.5x since 2020, and buying a house is getting equally more impossible
I definitely haven't seen food literally double or triple. It's gone up a lot, but not that much.
The inflation number uses a weighted "basket" of goods, but housing is the biggest part of it and housing hasn't gone up by that much. Not sure about Manitoba as the article is from, but for much of Ontario, rent controls prevent large rent increases (though sadly, newer buildings are exempt from rent controls, so we're only gonna see more people who are unprotected).
In February of 2020, a Wendy's Single was $3 CAD. Yesterday they were $6.99.
That's not 8%.
