US President Joe Biden has called Vladimir Putin?s argument for invading Ukraine ?ridiculous? and said Russia has already lost the war because it cannot achieve its initial goal.

There was an article the other day that a US intelligence officer stated Ukraine hadn't achieved its goal of reaching melitopol this year. But that they might continue pushing during the winter months which would be unusual

I wonder if all that vegetation that turned out to be a hindrance during the summer offensive will stabilize the ground enough that the Ukrainians can push through mud season.

If the main obstacle is minefields, snow might be a serious issue.
