Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced that its Self-Repair program is now available in Europe, specifically Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK. This move builds on the company’s recent Korean launch of the program.

This is encouraging. Hopefully they will expand to more regions.

I always cheer when right to repair wins even the smallest battle. But I when it comes to smartphones, the major issue is the planned obsolescence as time-limited updates. OEMs should make it much easier to flash custom roms at least at the end of life for a specific model...
