Finally! Not the best game ever made, but one I really enjoy nonetheless.

I can't wait to play it again: having left my Steam library behind it's always a struggle not being able to replay some games missing on gog.

Yup I certainly enjoy NV a lot more, but still I'm happy to welcome Fallout 4 to the family on GOG. Plus I never had the DLC on Steam for F4 so GOG release will prompt a replay where I'll get to check those out too.

Far Harbor is especially great.

The gun play is great, and you can make it a lot of fun by not playing the story. The modding scene makes it great too. I'd say it's not a good fallout game, but it's a good game.

This is indeed a great summary. I never really modded it, so that too will be a new experience. I hope mods will works with the GoG version!

I remember the ones for Skyrim needed some kind of patching? Or it was only for the SKSE related one? Aaah, that too will be a journey on itself. Haha!

Modding will work just fine. It's the same game of the year edition that was released years ago on steam.

The Skyrim special edition that you're thinking about took the native 32 bit Skyrim and translated it to 64 bit. This broke most mods.

I went back and checked and it seems I kind of remembered it right, when it was first released on GOG there was some kind of version incompatibility with the Steam one: Link
You can see it in the SKSE page too, there's a version specific for GOG: Link

But reading in the gog forums it seems this is not a problem for Fallout 4: Link

We'll have to try and see! ✌️
