About

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis aspires to be the same kind of Autocrat despised by the founders of the United States. He must be exposed for what he is: a great threat to our Democratic Republic and American values. Republicans don't punish big businesses like the Walt Disney Company for disagreeing with them. Fascists do. DeSantis and those like him are a massive threat to our Democracy.

Translation: It backfired politically in his face, resulted in massive criticism, lost support within his party, and harmed his state's interests.

"and harmed his state's interests."

Neither he or his voters care about that last one, clearly. Republicans haven't cared about improving or even maintaining for a long time. Politically, Desantis is right to appeal to his voters by harassing the populations Republicans don't like, everyone who isn't them.

It's all they respond to. Trump took over and won the 2016 primary simply by commiserating with Republican voters on stage about how he'd like to take their protesters around back and beat the shit out of them. Before that, he literally had to hire extras to his events.

Republicans would (and have) gladly vote to lose their own jobs, schools, parks, infrastructure, etc, just to watch their enemies be sad about losing those things too. A race to the bottom. If they could press an "infinite resources for everyone with no downside for anyone" button they wouldn't, and they'd fight like hell to make sure their enemies never could either.

Republican voter's only "victory" is in the schadenfreude of making their enemies suffer.

Time to declare victory and hope people forget. Maybe another political stunt will help

I don't know how to go about it and I doubt I could get in on it, but I'd love to see a class action lawsuit against DeSantis for violations of people's rights, lost wages for those affected by DeSantis's attacks on one of the main drivers of our tourism, Disney, and DeSantis's failure to govern where it comes to leading the recovery of the various areas wrecked by hurricanes then ignored by the Governor and his administration, as well as those being affected by the increased insurance rates and exiting insurance providers.

DeSantis gave up on attempting to actually govern in order to wage a terroristic campaign against minority groups, then further gave up attempting to govern to go campaign for President while also changing the law so that he could stay governor while campaigning for president.

He's an entitled hateful piece of shit and it would be nice to see him get ruined like he deserves to be.

We were much better off with Gillum, even if Gillum stayed high on meth for his entire term as governor. (Which I don't think would have happened, depression often causes drug abuse.)

I think it's important for Disney to win at this point. He's put them in a position where they need to show that they can't be bullied.

History has taught many that you do not fuck with the House of Mouse. If you do, you better have a lot of backing behind you or you are toast.

I guess DeSantis will have to learn the hard way.

Translation: "I have no integrity or backbone and was just using it to score political points. I never cared, and I'll find something equally stupid to 'fight' next before people lose interest."
