I found this fan rewrite to be very engaging. Also interesting how a combination of AI-generated visuals and good narration can really pull a story together.

The story is certainly better than what we actually got. It is a bit slow at the start though, especially for viewers new to the series.
Reminds me of Belated Media's take on the Star Wars prequels, but with the constraint that changes should be minimal: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VgICnbC2-_Y

It definitely started slow, but I thought the build-up was engaging. About half-way through, I thought "OMG, what do we have to do to make this happen!? TAKE ALL MY MONEY!" (which might cover 1 day's worth of story boarding, but whatever...)
