My s.o. old employer tried to pull some shady shit with the employees during covid and the PUA benefits.

He took them off the clock, starting paying in cash, and said "well i know your getting PUA, so I'm giving you 3$ an hour".

Then he even tried to convince them that they'd actually OWE him money when all said and done LOL

I know. This dude is a scum bag. He runs for local office every cycle. He thinks everyone is out to get him, going so far as to believe people are sabotaging his restaurant, car, and house. (I wouldn't be surprised tbh the dude is a pos) He would sit down at random peoples tables while they were eating and spout the most hateful trumping bullshit like who tf are you and why you sitting with me?

The craziest part, to me, is that no one felt they had any recourse or choice. The workers NEED him and NEED that job.

The user "swoletariat" on Tiktok makes some really high quality videos of sonic the hedgehog explaining things like wage theft and how to unionize. I've never used tiktok in my life, but I think this kind of memefication of serious issues is the best way to raise awareness with gen-Z.

I saw it because someone messaged me the video file directly via discord. I highly recommend sharing it around.

I'm in Tik Tok I'll go check it out. And for what it's worth Tik Tok's algorithm is easily trained. In less than 48 hours I turned it into a center of mental health support, table top roleplaying, and leftist/progressive politics. It's all about what you hit the like button on.

Companies don't want you to know that they steal far more money than anyone else. And don't face prison time for it.

The upper class pays for lawyers and lobbyists and special interest groups to advocate on their behalf. The middle and lower classes do not have this benefit, that's why we must band together to fight for each other.
