I think humans becoming immortal would be awful. Think about the people who would want to live forever. Awful, bigoted old farts in government would never die and progress would stagnate.

I think the reason life is so beautiful is that it's not permanent. If we were immortal, I'd imagine we'd actually be slightly more sane, less greedy and hateful. We wouldn't even be human, we'd be ufos or smth crazy lol.

Maybe they'll start caring about how society is tomorrow if they have to live through it? The chances of getting a permanent disability some time would be near 100%, so they'll make a society that can help them when that happens?... Nah, very unlikely, they are barely thinking a year ahead today.
