Twitter is considered a very large platform under the EU’s content-moderation law, meaning the company will have to put in place mitigation measures against fake news from August 25 onwards.

So Twitter will do the bare minimum to argue they are doing it.

They're not even doing that. They're failing to flag known CSAM and their Trust and Safety team appears to exist in name. They're down to 1000 employees from their pre-Musk number of 7500. They don't have the people to do it. Musk is just paying lip service to them.

He claimed hate speech had decreased by 30 percent since he took over, even as Lapix presented him with statistics saying the opposite — including a study by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue exposing a 105 percent increase in antisemitic posts.

He meant hate speech against him.
