For a few years in the 1990’s, Sydney’s You Am I were the best band in Australia, IMO.

The track that possibly kicked it off is Berlin Chair from the album Sound As Ever. This was produced by Sonic Youth’s, Lee Ranaldo and had a distinct grunge leaning.

Later albums were released that showed more of an influence from 60s music.

This video is also hilarious, which is also a bonus.
