Hi, just moving into Lemmy from Reddit. I live in the Poconos. Do you still have questions?

Thanks for asking. We went up and got rained in. Didn't realize how vast the "Poconos" were and we went to a spot that wasn't really ideal for what we wanted to do. Lesson learned though! We'll plan better next time.

Hit me up for next time. I am not from here, but have lived in Stroudsburg since 2017. I will try to steer you away from tourist trap stuff...

Generally speaking, where do you live. Any cool stuff where you are?

Nah we live just far enough from everything that it's inconvenient to go places and there's nothing nearby. Kinda sucks honestly. The local hospital got shut down recently too so medical is a joke.

The Mahoning Drive-In Theater

Drive-in movie theater showing classic movies on 35mm film run by a bunch of people who just really love movies, and really try to make every night there a cool event. There's also a pretty good documentary called "At the Drive In" about the theater if you want to get a sense of what they're about, it was streaming for free on Amazon for a while if you have prime, not sure if it still is.

In a field of green, past the great oak tree, there is a large black rock, out of place for the area. Dig deep and you will find a chest with hidden gems... Arrr!

I just went to the Poconos for memorial day. We checked out the Boulder Field in Hickory Run State park. That was really cool
