I'd love to know what happened internally, I really do not feel Snafnauer was the problem though. Alpine have been lost for a long while now.

This feels to me like a work project where management promised it done next month and it will reasonably take a year to finish. Otmar the middle manager kept insisting it will take a year but upper management doesnβt care and thinks that replacing the middle managers will somehow speed up the timeline. From my experience this delays the original year long timeline and worsens the overall end product.
I feel bad for the Alpine employees who are being subjected to this thrash .
That's exactly how it sounded to me too with all that "we agree on principles but not on the timeline" phrasing.
They may as well reset the clock on their 100 race plan.
Othmar pretty much said that in his goodbye interviews with the media. He came in, the suits told him "this is the plan and we need to be that good in that time", Othmar told them "that's not doable" and they were like "well then you're the problem"
I'm sorry, but Otmar was one of the least charismatic personalities I've ever heard speak. Not very sure of his leadership capabilities, but the results are grim.
Iβm not sure charisma is what is needed to succeed in F1.
Fair, but a good team boss either has Charisma or leadership skills, or both (Like Toto or Horner). I don't feel like Otmar left a lasting impression on anyone that worked with him
You clearly didn't read the article.
Clearly.
Nah, Otmar and Laurent both needed the boot.
