Support Idea for App Store go-live (volunteering) (sh.itjust.works)

With the go-live in the App Store fast approaching, with it comes the frenzy of support questions that inevitably come alongside the launch of a new app or platform.

I’ve been doing IT support for 20 years, and one of the hardest parts of my job is launch support (in fact, I’m just winding down the launch of a major platform at work). Unfortunately, users are not always going to take into account that /u/[email protected] is a one man dev team, and this community is going to blow up with questions and bug reports.

That being said, I really believe in Bean and I definitely don’t want to see Steve suffer burnout trying to keep things moving ahead. I’d like to volunteer to help triage support requests and bug reports so everything doesn’t have to be completely on the shoulders of a dev who should really be enjoying the fruits of his labor and a job well done.

I’d encourage others to volunteer as well, if Steve will have us. A small support team can make a difference.

Hey, this is really kind and wonderful idea. I would very much appreciate the help as I’m sure a lot of questions will be things that Bean beta testers will know the answers to. Very happy to make you a Mod if you’d like 😊

It’s my pleasure. I agree that many of us beta testers should be able to answer the majority of the questions that get asked. I’ll also try to get the bug reports organized and funneled to you with all the info you need.

As far as the mod thing, that’s up to you.

Awesome plan and will be checking in to also try to help answer questions people post when it goes live in the App Store. Love this app so far and really looking forward to seeing a successful launch!
