I’m still rather early on, but I agree. The exorcism side quests are my favorites so far. They didn’t shy away from meaningfully impacting a main hub, which I appreciated, and you feel like you’re doing something meaningful versus a simple exchange of time for experience/gold. It must’ve been a complete pain in the ass to design, though.

I totally agree, and the exorcism quests actually involves another quest giver from another town, and you can feel the weight of different character's approach to the world and feel their impacts. Some quests also involve referring to characters from the main quest, and have different dialogues depending on how far you progressed the main quests as well, which also wouldve involved some effort to include.
I'm beginning to work on the side quests and I've definitely noticed the writing and voice acting is very good too so far!
I'm only at level 35, just finished Act I. At first I was doing everything I stumbled upon, then felt I need to be quicker and burn through main campaign more, but now I'm taking it slow again, I don't care if it takes me eternity to finish the story, all these tiny plotlines all over the world are really enjoyable.
I just played a quest in Kehjistan that involved talking to a statue. The statue made reference to "the vibrancy of the world" and that you could "see magic in the air", which struck me as a clear reference to D3. The developers clearly have a sense of humor and I found the dialog both engaging and humorous. I have notes for the devs, but damn did they make a great game!
Ah yeah, there are a few quests that involve emoting and it's kinda interesting.
No emotes on this one! You'll see - it starts with a man being yelled at by a statue
