It’s tough to say whether they are obscure or not, they are “obscure” in the West but I believe all these artists are moderately well-known in Eastern Europe: I love Воровайкии, Uamee (Hardbass) and Молчат Дома, to be fair I think Molchat Doma is kinda known in the West also bc of Sudno memes.

I guess Igorrr and Naked City are some of the most, I don't know if exactly obscure, but hard to listen to, for sure.

That's a hard one because the majority of my music taste is pretty obscure, I am a huge music nerd. Here are a couple:

Comus - First Utterance fucking dope dark/psych/acoustic folky band from the early 70's. Think like, evil Jethro Tull. One of my favorite albums, highly recommend

Elizabeth Color Wheel - Nocebo Seen this band 3 times and they always make me cry, so good. Heavy noisy wall of sound chaotic melodic hardcoreish goodness. If you like My Bloody Valentine this might be up your alley, they are heavier.

Pinnochio - S/T Fast, fun, femme vocal punk rock that makes you wanna pogo

I really like Danny Schmidt and Satellite High but the Nightvale Weather Report has some 240 very high quality songs each from a small group or individual musicians. Might be worth a look on shuffle and you'll likely find a couple small artists you really enjoy. Jerusalem and "Bill and Annie" have completely different vibes to illustrate how diverse the playlist is.

Derek Messink. YT algorithm recommended one of their tracks one time and I listen to their music since then.

Whitewoods, also known as Bug Your Parents.

Made somewhat popular by Pyrocynical from his use of their song Beachwalk in his outro, along with Whitewoods revolutionizing Vaporwave by basically founding the genre. However many of their songs are extremely obscure and I assume that absolutely no one knows who they are.

12 million views, so definitely a hit, but they are overall very small and obscure in the grander scheme of things.

I don't know how obscure they are, but the band Naked City made quite an obscure album called Leng Tch'e (not the band called something similar) that I simply love. I wouldn't call it easy listening, but there's just something about it that hits the spot for me. I can recommend Naked City in general if you're down for some jazz-grindcore-surfer-metal. Yeah, they don't really fit into any one genre, or any five even.

There is this super obscure Australian prog metal band (in a King Crimson kind of way, not the Dream Theater kind) called Serious Beak that released this awesome album 9 years ago called Huxwhukw. It's some early djenty stuff in there too, I think it sounds amazing. I've always tried to get people into it but with no luck.

I loved Slugabed's and Samuel Organ's collaborative project Peter Talisman. There's only one album out though and I don't know if they're going to make more. I've never heard music like that and so hasn't the Internet, because neither spotify, youtube or last fm is able to give me something similar to it.

I doubt they're considered obscure, just a bunch of indie bands, but some of my top listened to artists of the past few years have been these:

Probably Nothingface. I feel like my music taste is mostly stuff that’s avant-garde in a popular way (say Limp Bizkit, or Xxxtentacion). That’s why I’d say nothingface, because it’s like what I generally like, but I’ve never heard anyone mention it, irl or online (I found it in a search result for the word communist). In additions Sankara’s great, and only known online.

Chicajo he mostly did System Shock remixes and C&C inspired music. Sadly, he stopped making music after his stroke in 2016 and his website has been down for years.

Chicajo - Bog 2004, ignore the anime picture this is actually a remake of the C&C Red Alert 1 track by Frank Klepacki of the same name.

Bizarrely, the channel that exclusively uses completely unrelated anime pictures has the most complete collection of his original tracks on youtube.

I listen to a lot of metal and some of the genres and bands I like are kind of obscure to people who aren't familiar with the genre. I really like Mongolian folk metal (i.e., Nine Treasures) but Vvilderness released a great album I basically listen to on repeat lol

I also like Lana Del Rey though.
