Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

Hello!

You guys, has anyone on Android 9 also had problems with Jerboa? Scrolling is really laggy and buggy, and I haven't found a way to fix it yet.

Any clues?

Android 13 here. The only bug I habitually notice is that when I load a comment thread, previously loaded comments from an old thread will briefly be displayed. That and when I subscribe to a new community, the button will keep saying Pending until I refresh.

Over all, it's a feature-light app but for the price it's as good as I would ask for. Hopefully some folks will join the dev team as the community grows.

Mine isn't particularly smooth on my Android 11 device either, so there's probably some performance improvements we could do.

Here's the bug for reference: https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/issues/445

It looks like it's worse on 0.0.34 (more features = more performance penalty), but not upgrading may not work because the backend API is changing in an incompatible way.

If you could try on 0.0.34 and post back here with a video or something, that could help quantify the issue.

Are you on .33 or already .34? That fixed a bunch of issues for me.

Only available via github or f-droid, not rolled out on google yet.

I am using the F-Droid version, yeah. I have tried all of the (older) versions avaliable on F-Droid and all of them have this 'bug'.

Ok then let's hope they'll get it sorted in the next release. Maybe worth to open a bug report in the github tracker (if it's not on there yet).
