I'll bet it will be some super small useless car noone wants to buy.

Also every basic feature will be an add-on that hikes the price up 10k.

Not gonna put my hope into this. Stayin with my old car until it dies and guess I'll have to buy combustion again, since large electro cars (estate cars) are simply too expensive when looking for electric models.

No friggin way that I am paying 40k and upwards for a middle class car in the basic config just because its electric. Adding some features that should be included nowadays makes them 50 grand and upwards.

Buying relatively young combustion driven car leaves you with less crippling debt and a decent car with quite some features.

Fuck those greedy car manufacturers

Too little too late, or just in time?

I feel like VW has missed out in comparison to Renault, Opel and all the others (especially China).

Also I wouldn’t want to pump my money into their mis-management, but they are European after all..

You can buy an VW ID.3 in China for 16000€. The problem is that in the EU it costs nearly double that. Not saying VW is doing amazingly well, but especially with EVs they really are milking the EU market.

Yea, not worth the money. The early ID.3 (50.000€) were criticized for the materials and build quality. VW tries to be a premum brand, but does simply not deliver more quality than Honda/Toyota/... or nowadays even BYD.

Yeah it definitely doesn't hurt to have more variety from within Europe since we don't know how much the tariff situation is gonna escalate. Plus VW is doomed if they don't act now. They might still become irrelevant but at least they will have returned to their roots as a car manufacturer for the common people.

@Venus_Ziegenfalle @SrMono

Maybe, maybe not. First of it will actually have to hit the road as a production model. Secondly I do think they certainly have shot at being succesfull. Tesla is tanking with each Musk handgesture. And rightly so. But with tariffs being inevitable by now they need to drill in #EU And we need an afordable car that gets rid of the dinosaur fuel. We got far with cutting energy ties with Moscom but now American oil and LNG start to look iffy as well.
