I am annoyed by komoot. Is there any suitable alternative for sharing hiking or biking trips online. Something like OSM but for tours. Ideally federated, but I would be happy with anything.

Edit:

The main feature I am looking for is finding a tour. I want to enter a location and an activity and find nice tours with gps tracks, pictures and a description.

Komoot and Outdooractive can be used as navigation and map viewing apps aswell, but I think there are enough posts about alternatives to those like Mapy.cz, Organic Maps or OSMand.

Just a quick note, komoot uses OSM, maybe not in its mobile apps where system apis available, but you should see the Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors text on the bottom right corner of the map, example link to the map: https://www.komoot.com/discover/Location/@48.0186032,16.9920158

I never used komoot, and I'm not an hiking guy, so I don't have experience with alternatives

bikerouter.de has some pretty cool routing options.

Have a look at RouteYou and Wikiloc

A really cool app is wanderer https://github.com/Flomp/wanderer

It's not directly what you asked but it is cool

To me, it's cooler than komoot and outdooractive but it's not social consumer ready

Also it superimposes over komoot, bikerouter, etc with a firwfox plugin

A public instance with a community would be what I would be looking for. Thank you!

For just the "finding GPS tracks for biking trips" part, https://cycle.travel/ is pretty neat.

I'm not familiar with Komoot, can you share what features you're looking for?

If it's similar to what I'm thinking of, these two might be relevant on the selfhosted side

https://github.com/samr1/fittrackee

The second one might be getting social features?

For apps, I think this is what people recommended for hikes/trails

Sorry for being unprecise, I added some more context to the actual post.
