The CRJ-900 series has a pretty impressive record. It launched in 2001 and has been involved in 129 incidents since then, yet not a single fatality. Additionally, this accident is only the second (or third, depending on the source) event severe enough to result in a hull loss.

Well I mean if the wing fell off a boeing during takeoff or only a door fell off a hoser during a major crash this would be a sensible meme. But in fact these two scenarios give very little comparable data as to the quality and survivability of one plane relative to the other.
