Yeah you really can't make broad generalizations like that. It's a complete coincidence that all the conservative people I personally know are selfish bigoted assholes.
I don't remember who said it but I feel it sums up their beliefs the best.
Conservatism is the dread fear that somewhere, somehow, someone you think is your inferior is being treated as your equal.
