Hello,

I would like to create a new community, but the Create page does not work. I have filled up everything (it is in Finnish), but the green "Luo" (Create) button does not submit my data, nor lead anywhere. I can keep pushing the button, but it does not work. What to do?

Best wishes Santeri

If you're trying to do this at feddit.org, it's because the 'Nimi' field is too long. It looks to be about 22 characters, but the max length for an actor at feddit.org is 20.

For each instance, the restriction can be viewed from the command line with: curl https://feddit.org/api/v3/site | jq .site_view.local_site.actor_name_max_length

I registered at feddit.org. Is it not accepting new communities anymore? Can you recommend me a server where to make the group?

The problem is not feddit.org. You can still create communities there. The problem is that the 'name' field is too long - it's needs to be 20 characters max. I answered this from another account, but now I'm thinking you can't see it because you haven't selected 'English' as a language you understand. If that's the case, then it means problems with Lemmy are stopping people solving other problems with Lemmy, and the whole thing is doomed.

It is working! Thank you very much!

OK, thanks a lot, I'll try that! Stupid me, i had only selected "Undetermined" and thought that will suffice me to see all the content in any language.

I raised the language issue recently, it should be fixed in 0.19.9

Youre not communist enough ;-) /jk

Maybe try another server if the content is sort of server agnostic? I mean maybe they're full/not accepting new communities.
