The democratic party is there to provide you the illusion of choice, but the whole game is rigged with billionaires cash. At this point I don't see the democratic party as anything but the controlled opposition.

“There are a lot of good billionaires out there that have been with Democrats, who share our values, and we will take their money. But we’re not taking money from those bad billionaires.” - New DNC head

Remember that until just a couple of years ago Elon was a "good billionaire" whose green vehicles were going to save the planet! Wonder what he's getting up to these days...

“Both sides are the same” Is the most apathetic, uninformed, and insidious meme out there.

One side literally just gave everyone's tax info to an oligarch, dismantled foreign aid that keep starving people fed and support democracy worldwide, scrapped several government agencies keeping oligarchs under control, actively destroys information on the greatest threat to the human race. And probably most relevant for this specific community: Has spent decades undermining unions every way they possibly could.

The other side wasn't interesting enough to vote for.

Yeah, totally the same. One would almost say the "both sides" meme purely benefits one of the sides...

I've personally chosen just to mock and laugh for 4 years, to stave off depression for the roughly 1/3rd of Americans who aren't gullible idiots or fucking evil.

Mocking people sure helped during the election, why stop now right?

This is what loser-talk looks like. Stop trying to lose and start actually talking to people. Or just don't say anything I guess, better than being an ass.

after not voting in large enough numbers for democrats, these einsteins have decided they can't trust democrats. fuck all the way off with this bullshit

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The lack of trust likely predates the decision not to vote for them, if not directly informing it.

so, in this informed decision not to vote with a binary choice of democracy or fascsist dissasembly of every civil right they currently posses, american constitutional democracy as a whole and post world war 2 world order, they allowed their lack of trust to make that choice for them? fuck all the way off with that psuedo-intellectual fucking bullshit man

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Yeah people tend to act in accordance with what they do or do not trust. I am not sure why that would be pseudo-intellectual to point out, nor should it be construed as an assessment on the accuracy of that dis/trust.
