Worst flu season in years... one month after return to office mandates. Weird.

Low vaccination rate (stupidity), combined with slightly less effective vaccines this year (bad luck). The good news is, we're seeing vaccinated folks have less severe symptoms for shorter lengths of time.

This immediately drove me into a bit of a panic (2012 swine flu survivor), but was able to get my immunization records from the state via web, and I already got this years shot back in September, so I should be good (still wearing a mask in indoor public spaces)
