Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.

To be fair, I read Japanese and not Chinese, but the character on the Chinese re-enactor's chest appears to just say "man".
Edit: I missed that there's a bit above the character for man, so I don't know exactly what it says.

I think it's 'courage' 勇 but the same caveat that I speak japanese and searched in japanese. I searched exactly be cause I thought it couldn't just be 'man' heh
