I think DeepSeek and its deployment is a calculated market manipulation of the US stock market specifically including NVDA and other AI stocks as 1) it’s released on a weekend before the Monday trading; 2) certain news and SNS started praising it bitching other US AI co everywhere even without verifying its shortcoming and its service terms; 3) it’s made by a hedge fund in China; 4) that Chinese HF apparently obtained restricted NVDA chips for its training, if they did have some training; 5) it just so happened the week prior “The $125 put expiring on February 19, 2025, saw a significant open interest increase by 18.51K contracts, indicating increased bearish sentiment.” ( https://www.ainvest.com/news/whale-moves-nvda-125-put-soars-vix-50-call-sees-major-increase-250110104f8b588030e399aa/ )

Well the product actually works but yeah timing does look like it was strategically planned to hit nvidia.

But it ain't a crime to develop better product. It is amazing how us corpos react to a competitor, it is pathetic frankly.

They act like only they are allowed to win, and if they don't fed gov needs to shut down the competition.

If we doing capitalism, may as well have that sweet free market competition we keep hearing about.

Frankly I don't need capitalism aka oligarch owning key sectors of economy but a free market is the hill I die on as an enjoyer of freedom and a pedon.

I was thinking that earlier today looking at the ticker when I saw NVDA dip below 120, and I'm kicking myself for not dropping 10k into it, which was my immediate, visceral response.

Then another article comes out today, and blah blah blah, The cost given by the deepseek CEO for Nvidia products and services was grossly understated...

Then boom back up to 127 within an hour.

I think the real task here unfortunately is to just try to decode what the signal is. At this point I feel like it's " CEO makes negative statement about a company in another related industry, and stock prices drop suddenly but then raised back up to previous support levels with 24-72 hours"

They have previous times the FTC would have been watching for this type of thing like a hawks but something tells me that whoever was or is doing that is probably not doing it anymore or at least not to the same degree. As a result there's going to be a lot of flagrant market manipulation

It's not like the FTC can do much anyway when the news is coming from China.

You all didn't buy the dip? Shit, yesterday i bought NVDA, TSM, even a bit of MU just for fun. I fail to see how semis recede from their position of utmost importance in the future. I only wish I'd bought more AMAT and QCOM a few months ago.
