The wealthy need that money WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE WEALTHY 🙏😭

Remember, any time you see people talking about "the economy", just replace that with "rich people's yacht money" and things will start making more sense.

So it's concentration camps. They'll soon make them work themselves to death.

[–] Deway 5 points 1 day ago

I've seen somewhere that work makes you free so making the refugees work would be a good thing!

I can't remember where I saw that though...

[–] MothmanDelorian 11 points 1 day ago

No, these camps are outside the USA. The concentration camps are domestic.

They want a pandemic. All of the things they have done so far regarding public health can only be explained that way as far as I can tell.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Pandemics means market drops and supply chain interruptions, which destroys a bunch of value, which means the currently-wealthy can buy up the rest of the world at fire sale prices and price gouge for what's left.

Ten richest men in the world doubled their wealth to 1.5tn during covid. They want to repeat that. Millions dead is a minor side effect they don't care about.

Wasn't/Isn't reducing world population a big deal for the rich as well? They want just the right amount of "people" to keep their luxurious lifestyles going.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

None of their lifestyles will survive climate change but the jokes on us first.

I was saying that just this morning myself. He told the CDC that they are not allowed to have any contact with the WHO at all even while we're still officially a part of it for the next year.

That can only be a desire for another pandemic.

well, can't say he's not following up on his election promises

[–] [email protected] 37 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Except for the lowering grocery prices thing.

[–] jaybone 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Eggs in my area have already gone up like $1/dozen in the last week.

I have been specifically thinking about getting a bunch of those printed and slapping them on egg price tags at grocery stores. Glad I'm not the only one.

Same and I saw musk Tesla logo with a swastica which I can't find now, I'd love to get a bunch printed & start sticking them around town.

A very Donald Trump thing to do.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why does my gut feeling tell me this is breaking some international laws? Not that anything will be done, just saying this reeks of illegal.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 day ago

It's straight up genocide.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

"International Law" is much different thing from normal law. There is no real enforcement mechanism, so it's very much a case of "might makes right". In this particular case, it sounds like Trump pulled funding, which is not the same as shutting it down, even if the effect on the refugees is the same.

Now hold my beer for a sec, but isn't the IRC a NGO?

[–] theparadox 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Literally the third paragraph, and they are short paragraphs.

The IRC gets about half of its funding from the US government and part of its work is to help resettle refugees in the US.

If you keep reading...

As a result of the IRC’s suspension of healthcare, hospitals in the refugee camps have had to discharge all their patients except for emergency cases and stop seeing outpatients, according to healthcare officials working in the camps.
