I have been looking in settings, but somehow I can’t find a setting to show link previews for URLs instructions instead of just a copy of the title with a frame around it.

If that is not a feature yet, I would like to request it. All other Lemmy apps I am currently testing show link preview, so the Liftoff timeline looks kinda weird.

Other than that I really like the clean UI design!

You can get link preview on other apps like voyager or Thunder. Not sure those esre available for ios though.

I know, also some other apps like Memmy or Mlem. But these have other deficiencies like integration of some video services or such. I am testing a couple of them to find the best Lemmy user experience. Liftoff is already pretty good and one of my favorites, only the repeated link title instead of a preview annoys me a bit. But I don’t think that this should be a major issue, so I’m hoping that this feature will come over time.

There's a setting called "show thumbnails" or similar, make sure that's turned on. Here's how that post looks from my end

You should see previews in more posts in 0.10.10. If you reply with any examples that still aren’t working for you, we can have a look.

In the iOS AppStore I can only see version 0.10.9, which I have. 0.10.10 seems not to be available yet.

Yes, it’s still going through Apple’s review process unfortunately…

OK, I see the improvement, and a thumbnail next to the post title (see screenshot 1). Would it also be possible to add an option for a large preview, as shown in screenshot 2)? I prefer a timeline with large pictures, previews, etc. - Thanks! screenshot1 screenshot2

Yes, we’re still evolving the UI, so we can keep this in mind.
