I'm having fun imagining Kevin impaling Marv and Harry on poop covered pungee sticks.

It is less legal to booby trap your house than to shoot and kill a home invader.

Make booby traps legal again!

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up, Just as the founding fathers intended

Compromise: Breech loading .50 cal, single shot 45/70 pistol, and a 4 bore shotgun.

Imagine setting up illegal traps that actually helps stop invaders, call the cops to arrest them just to be arrested for those traps

You can't even make traps to capture people without harm(like a room with two doors that locks them inside), but somehow a store can have remote locking doors and it is ok.

The fuck is this guy talking about

It's okay to use a gun, so long as you're shooting targets you've setup to trigger traps and not directly at the home invaders.

To be fair, if Kevin had had a gun in Home Alone, there wouldn't have been a sequel.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Yeah, he'll accidentally shot himself.

To be fair, the Wet Bandits should have died due to all those head hits.

The steel plate Marv had installed into his fractured skull after all the head blows in Home Alone 1 is the only way I can imagine he survives all those bricks hitting him in 2.

I wonder if Marv took the metal plate out because every time Harry used the microwave, Marv pissed himself and forgot who he was for 30 minutes.

Kevin had a lot of prep time though at least a day or two of knowledge. You don't generally have that when someone's going to break in. That being said I still think a good old-fashioned Louisville slugger would do the same job

If you think you need a gun to protect your family and home, have you considered moving to an actual civilised country?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

how would civilization protect from the neighborhood bears?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Not with a handgun, you quivering shitebag 😂

I've seen a few people use handguns as bear deterenant (in addition to bear spray) for primary reason that rifles are hard to fire inside of tents.

Are they making wise decisions? Probably not, but .45 magnums apparently work for scaring bears away from tents.

Obviously people that live in cities are a different story as the police/troopers are far better equipped to handle wild animals and can legally discharge weapons within city limits without you needing to do paperwork or risking your life, just don't have food on you when backing away slowly.

edit: cars are also a reasonable deterrent (bears rarely try to attack moving vehicles, and when they do the driver is usually being stupid)

10mm, is the most common handgun round recommended for defense against bears, but .357mag, .44mag, .454 casull, etc, all work too if you're married to revolvers.
