There's apparently two options: either use keyword filter to block it all and be uninformed about what's happening or alternatively be absolutely firehosed by articles about them. I think I'll choose the former.

And yes, I see the irony in making yet another thread about them.

I'm happy for you that you don't spend time on Facebook. They've really trumped the place up.

I was looking at my partner's Facebook "feed" and it's just like imgur but with even more ads now. Like, totally overculture memes, hardly anything local or from friends.

I quit fb a long long long time ago, but I remember my feed being actually pretty good - like it was almost entirely updates and posts and shared by cool friends, and people I actually knew IRL.

Why wouldn't we talk about two of the most relevant people in the world right now?

Because it changes nothing and only makes you miserable and angry.

I agree with both of you. I am very smart.

Jk, but I do honestly see both your points. For me it's like a diet. You need to be careful you aren't just eating up obvious rage bait, but you should probably stay at least somewhat aware of global politics.

You don't really need to go out of your way to find American politics, though. It'll find you wherever you are.

To be fair, yesterday was a pretty outrageous news day.
