There is something California can do to pressure car manufacturers and other products, especially if they can agree to work with other blue states independent of the federal government. It's usually most economic to meet the strictest requirements of one state (or half of the states) than to sell to two different markets.
So far that has just meant regulation on ICE vehicles but it can very well get stricter. Double that with doubt deregulation holds past 4 years and it ends up being worth staying green even if the feds say otherwise.
That said, it won't change things like how power is generated in Texas or Florida, or other environmental hazards those big red states create in four years. Maybe we need a return to when protesters sabotaged shit instead of just complained.
