It's a kite-surfing, wing-surfing, and wind-surfing event.
Carnarvon has excellent winds all along it's coast, a perfect spot.
I'd say 100-200 people competing and watching each day. (Obs of 2hrs)

This was the start of the Men's Slalom (I think) which is a downwind zig-zag through 4 buoys, and then later the same upwind.
The participants were all assembled with kites aloft, ready to start when signalled.
