Let's do this every week! Super fun and a great atmosphere in here. I'm not going back to reddit. I was there 12 years, and saw it slip just like I saw digg slip before it. Let's keep this going while we wait for others to see the obvious - once the people who create the best content leave there's no reason to stay there.

Place to talk about the **sport** of mixed martial arts
Hello, this is Marvin Vettori's brain. I'm not able to answer the phone right now, but please leave a message and I'll get back to you after round five.
thanks for hanging out with me, everyone. had a great time with you all
fun fight
This is currently the most commented thread ever on kbin. It's a shame that it won't grow from here, with the return of the subreddit soon.
I'm staying here, man. Reddit gets worse with every year, and I'm perfectly happy to talk way too much over here instead of over there.
I'll still be posting here and hope others do as well. It just really feels like the fediverse has something going for it if people stick with it.
/r/mma is so trash for discussion if this place even picks up slightly in activity I might just stay here instead tbh
Fuck reddit. Shit sucks. Kbin is exactly what reddit was back in the day when I liked reddit. Not going back
It will keep growing. Check out my profile for m/BotIt.
It will be great once we are able to implement that.
I'd like to start a petition to replace Cruz with Laura Sanko. I think it'd be nice to get a former female fighter's opinion in there, and she's well spoke and deserves it.
Cruz absolutely creaming himself over Keith Peterson making a mistake, lol.
Also everyone, please upvote this thread itself so we can get other folks from the fediverse to come over to the thread as well. Thanks.
Fuck I miss hanging with the boyz!!
never seen cannonier cook somebody like this. very impressive.
Historically, no one has EVER beat an ass more than Cannonier at middleweight, and yet somehow Vettori is still here. That dude probably lost 2 or 3 years off his career tonight, though.
Most exciting fight by either fighter. They both want to make a statement.
Fights like this deserve a real crowd. Apex is played out.
I think it takes a metal noggin like Vetorri and a relentless ass beating machine like Cannonier to break that record. We might not see it again.
TIFU guys, as an aside. Went fishing today, was wading in a stream I've never waded before. Took a step and in that exact spot the water was about 3 feet deeper than on either side. Went completely under, cut my legs up and lost my phone. Phone is....not water proof. $300 fishing trip feels bad man.
Three minutes into the fight, I would have given it to Salikhov. Dalby proved me severely wrong
That was the right call. Good on Keith to fix that.
Mods, lemme get that "Head to head deez nuts" flair.
No flairs yet! Baby steps!
dom with the clutch commentator curse 😂
Love Cannonier fights, Izzy was too smart to trade with him
KO of the year.
I've heard that damage is a scoring criteria. 4-1 Jared. Marvin is not human.
Vettori looks like he just woke up from a nap.
ehh after a while it felt like Marvin had nothing for Jared, looked like he was too slow. Corner should've thrown in the towel, he wore the damage well but that could take some time to recover from
I did not expect Vettori to survive that round. Very impressive
My favorite ref is the ref that gives a warning if it needs a warning and takes a point if it was serious. I think too many refs are hesitant to take a point on things like fence grabs that change the whole position of fight or eye pokes that compromise the fighter for the rest of the fight. I'd like to see more points taken until the behavior decreases across the whole industry
