The kind where I build everything in my head, write nothing down, forget it in a day or two never to be seen again while I feel sad about not ever developing them properly

I always have obsidian open to write anything thau comes to mind
Though, I'm actually using this as a way to motivate me to finish my blog
'finish your blog and you can worldbuild again' It works
Right now, it's been super easy for me to get sucked into developing peoples and the history of cultures, technologies, and nations. I selfhost Trilium and have turned part of it into a wiki for that stuff. I would like to start focusing on the micro-scale at this point, though. It'll be fun for me to start fleshing out cities and the people in them.
artifexian has a really nice and clear tutorial on how you can draw cities in inkscape or illustrator or whatever
Also, trillium looks really cool and I might also host it myself, but since it is in maintenance mode, is there any alternative?
That's a handy tip. I'll check him out.
Trilium Next is the community-driven successor, but I can't say I'm too familiar with it. I set up my Trilium awhile ago and I don't typically like to stay on the bleeding edge of things. I will check it out if/when I start having problems. :-)
