Hello everyone, welcome to transfurs!

This is a community for transgender furries where we can come together and discuss more about the intersectionality between being transgender and furry. Of course, other queer furries and allies are welcome to join as long as things stay on topic.

Keep in mind that this community isn't about transformation related stuff (as in human turning into furries and the like), but we welcome transformation related contents if they are relevant to this community's purpose.

If you want purely transformation related stuff, there are other communities such as:

A bit of a fun post, so no need to be serious.

Which fursona species do you think has heavy vibes with trans people? Which fursona species do you think many trans people would make or at least relate to?

Here are some of my suggestions:

  • Cats: catgirls, enough said.
  • Raccoons: maybe I'm slightly biased since it is my fursona, but I suppose they give a chaotic energy many trans people relate to, plus they're cute and unique.

What other species do you think would fit on this list?

I would say that a fursona species that would have heavy vibes with trans people would be species capable of shapeshifting. My fursona is effectively an anthropomorphic version of the feline shape-shifting Pokemon known as Mew, but specifically the shiny form.

Opossums are perfect trans fursonas! They've got that chaotic vibe like raccoons, and also there's a bit of "society may not always appreciate them but they're actually super rad and adorable" which is pretty relatable.

Also sharks. Blahaj go brrr.

Yup, literally

Maybe protogen, not sure why that comes to mind. Seems to be common with sharks too. Hyena seems likely too for some reason, maybe because of the inversion of traditional gender roles.

I also think Hyenas should make it on this list now that I think about it, for another reason

Can confirm, my fursona is a raccoon

Follow up of me mentioning clownfish. Here is an explaination of this fishes biology: https://australian.museum/learn/teachers/classroom-activities/sex-change-in-clownfish/

This is probably confirmation bias, but almost every housecat I know is either a trans woman, a feminine-enby, or a femboy. Definitely a strong feminine streak there.

gonna second hyenas to the person who said that earlier, I think I've interacted with like 5 yeenbys by this point (and me too actually)
