Oh dear lord yes. I have had this issue now for three years and words escape me, I have issues reading, listening to people. The whole thing(I can’t think of how to spell gammet, gamet) I wish I could remember what I have called things, but it escapes me. It’s a strange thing with peri and meno with nouns. Get the tests to make sure and of course it is better to check then blow it off. Just know you aren’t alone in forgetting and attention
Menopause
'Menopause isn't really that bad'...said no woman ever.
For those who are approaching or experiencing 'the change' (think reverse puberty), a time where hormone levels decline either through the aging process or by medical/surgical means.
Menopause and Perimenopause (the transitional time before Menopause) are unique to every person, and while there's no one-size fits all, we support each other on this roller coaster ride of wacked out hormones, absurd mood swings and random sweaty hot flashes.

I also have more problems concentrating lately and in meetings I have to force myself to pay attention. And finding words has been difficult for several years now. It’s annoying, but that at least is common in peri. It sounds more like your mind is wandering vs a neuro issue.
I feel you, really. Wandering off in my head and forgetting words. The fact that I am forced to use French and German beside English and my native language doesn't help. I am forgetting words in all those languages so I prefer to be quiet...which is so not me. You go and get yourself tested but IMHO it is menobeast messing with your mind. I’ve been having this problem a lot lately! I’m not quite to the magical 1 year mark, but have been experiencing more hot flashes again and having trouble stringing words together and focusing on anything at all. Like other people taking in meetings - my own talking in meetings - it’s not good at all.
I’ve really been struggling myself lately. I think it’s menopause, and stress and anxiety - but I’m not convinced it’s not neurological for me yet either. If you already have an established neurologist, I’d ask for the tests. But I hope for all of us that it’s just meno and temporary.
Hey, med student here! Probably it is temporary, but try out Ginco, or vitamin B5, B6 supplements. They helps nerves to function and Ginco improves blood supply to the brain.
Except this, vitamin D supplements are necessary to protect your bones from fracture, and to improve your mood.
